So, wtf is a groom shower?

That was the million dollar question, echoing throughout H-Tasting Lounge! Who knew that one “Groom Shower” banner could create such an atmosphere of intrigue, curiosity, and amusement?

Sans debauchery, the groom shower is a classy event - especially when planned by a wife + fiancée duo who met in teacher school!

We saw the Groom Shower as a modern party to celebrate our partner’s involvement in the wedding process (hello joint decisions) and a time to shower these important men with love.

The idea was born in jest after D’s fiancé, Mr. BT asked, “Do I get a groom shower?”

We thought it would be more fun if we made it a joint groom shower with WTF Hubby! Just the anticipation of seeing our significant other’s faces during the reveal had us in giggle fits.

Shower theme and colours:

The groom shower was saturated in plush velvet navy, glints of coppery-gold in the lounge decor + tea set, soft ocean blues, and a harbourfront view in Coal Harbour.

It was the perfect place to enjoy our seafood-theme afternoon tea! (Seafood just makes things a little more special and fancy, right?)

Describe the top three best moments and why:

The reveal! We had two days to pull everything together and seeing our significant other get spoiled + enjoy themselves was such a moment of pure love.
“Remember to always have your groom shower with another groom,” were WTF Hubby’s words before the four of us broke into another fit of laughter.

Granted, a joint groom shower made it really tricky for customers & servers alike to figure out who was getting married to whom. We were all incapacitated by laughter to even form words, so we’ll clarify it here: BT and Hubs aren’t getting married to each other. LOL.

The bro-dal love was there though!

3. Each groom received a bag of goodies to take home! We included boutonnieres (the struggle to put one on is REAL), fresh hydrangeas from the garden (our turn to give them flowers), a mini personalized book of why we love them, friendship bracelets, and a cake topper for those Instagram-worthy shots.

Oh yeah, WTF Hubby also got a Starbucks gift card for $23.03!

”Bro! You got a ***used*** gift card? Thank you for the full $25,”
said BT as I literally died laughing.

We had the grooms play “Would you rather?” to see how well they knew each other!

D added the perfect finishing touches with balloons, custom photo banners + photo stands, and cute, moustachey place cards! If you want to know how to elevate a space, she’s your gal! She really has an eye for detail.

She also got crowns for the guys to show H Tasting Lounge who was reigning supreme in our hearts that day!

Working with my bestfriend to create such a hilarious and loving memory together was the standout detail of this groom shower! Good thing we got a booth to contain all our crazy energy!
